Invisalign® for kids

Many parents think the teenage years are the best time to start orthodontic treatment, but actually, Invisalign® First can have immense benefits for small smiles. Starting orthodontic treatment in childhood can catch orthodontic issues before they begin or worsen.

What is Invisalign® First?

What is Invisalign® First?

Invisalign® First is an Invisalign® treatment specifically designed for children ages 6-10. It uses a series of custom clear plastic trays called aligners to gently guide the growth of your child’s jaws and ensure their teeth have room to grow in properly.

Invisalign® aligners are removable, so your child doesn’t need to change their diet or oral hygiene routine during treatment. There aren’t any metal brackets or wires to irritate the inside of your child’s cheeks either, which makes Invisalign® First a gentle introduction to orthodontics.

How does Invisalign® First work?

Invisalign® clear aligners are clear, making them a seamless fit with your lifestyle and day-to-day interactions with others. Invisalign® clear aligners are also removable. Unlike braces, you have the flexibility to eat and drink what you want during treatment simply by removing the aligners when you eat. You can also remove the aligners to brush and floss as you normally would for fresh breath and good oral hygiene.

Our Specialist Orthodontist will instruct your child to switch to a new set of aligners every couple weeks from the comfort of home. These custom aligners are each shaped slightly differently to guide your child’s smile into alignment and gently create space for current and incoming teeth.

Does my child need early orthodontic treatment?

Not all children require orthodontic treatment, but it can be extremely helpful for those who do! Intercepting orthodontic issues can save you time and money on treatment in your child’s teenage years – or prevent the need for future treatment altogether!

We recommend bringing your child in for an orthodontic assessment with Dr Sigid Fu around the age of 7. This will allow Dr Sigid Fu to assess the health of your child’s smile and plan intervention at the opportune time if needed.

Pair your child’s treatment with Dental Monitoring

We want your child’s smile to be as healthy as possible – but we don’t want them to have to skip school. That’s why we offer the Dental Monitoring app for our Invisalign® First patients, which allows you to do weekly check-ins with our team from home instead of visiting our practice.
