While each treatment at our practice is unique, every patient follows the same steps to achieve their dream smile. Here is exactly what to expect from your treatment journey at Clear Orthodontics.

Upload your photos

To help Dr Sigid Fu better understand your smile and prepare us for your arrival, we ask you to upload photos of your smile before your first consultation with us.

Our New Patient Coordinator will call you to learn more about your goals for orthodontic treatment.

Book a consultation

When you join us for your consultation, we’ll answer any questions you might have about orthodontic treatment. Then our Specialist Orthodontist, Dr Sigid Fu, will assess your smile to create a custom treatment plan for your exact needs and goals.

Fitting appointment

Once you’ve decided to move forward with treatment, we’ll schedule you in for a fitting appointment. This is where we will fit your new appliance to your smile.

At this appointment, we’ll also discuss how best to look after your teeth while wearing braces or aligners and answer your questions about appliance care at home.

Regular check-ups

Over the course of your treatment, we will ask you to visit us for regularly scheduled check-ups. If you have braces, we will use these appointments to adjust them. If you have aligners, we can check your progress and give you your next sets of aligners.

Sometimes, we can even do these check-ups remotely through the Dental Monitoring app!

After care

Once your teeth are straight, we can remove your appliance and unveil your beautiful new smile. But treatment isn’t over yet. In fact, the most important part of the treatment journey is just beginning!

To prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original positions, it’s important to wear a retainer after treatment. We offer two types of retainers: fixed and removable retainers.

Fixed retainers are small wires that we fix permanently to the back surface of your teeth near the gumline.
Removable retainers look a bit like clear aligners and should be worn 24 hours a day for the first three months - and during the night after that.
